Main Directions of Activity

Preparation of specialists on a wide range of pedagogical, artistic, humanitarian, social and management specialties (the University carries out training of specialists in 31 specialties at the first (bachelor’s) degree, 21 specialties at the second (master) degree, 11 specialties at the third (scientific) degree). There are more than 6,000 students studying at the university and 889 employees including 410 persons of pedagogical and scientific staff, among them 3 Academicians, 2 Corresponding Members of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, 64 Doctors of Science, 68 Professors, 244 PhDs; 15 teachers have the honorary title.

Material and Technical Base

1 institute, 10 faculties, 4 departments, 38 chairs (among them 21 are graduating); the separate structural unit: State educational institution “Odessa Professional Lyceum of the Services of the State Establishment «South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushinsky»”. There are 5 dormitories, educational workshops, educational laboratories, educational classrooms, libraries, reading rooms. Students are provided with canteens and snack bars; sanatoriums and recreation centers; first aid posts; IT Labs; gyms; Assembly Hall; exhibition hall; conference hall. There are also training and rehabilitation centers.

Scientific Infrastructure

32 research laboratories, cultural and educational centers. Postgraduate and doctoral studies are in progress.

Role In MoPED Project

Develop a strategy for the dissemination and implementation of the MoPED project, information days, round tables and seminars; support the project web-site; Accreditation of 3 developed disciplines based on the MoPED result into curriculum of the State Establishment “South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushinsky”; develop the concept of “the Innovative Classroom” for Ukrainian partner universities; develop the draft of the roadmap for ICR realization for ukrainian partner universities; install the equipment for the ICR realization; develop the MoPED Ecosystem; signing of cooperation agreements; Distribution of project products and results at national / international levels through various communication channels. And also take an active part in the implementation of all project tasks.
