Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra
https://lavra.ua/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/002-16.jpg   Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is the first and oldest monastery on the territory of modern Ukraine. Only three monastery monasteries in Ukraine currently have the status of a laurel and consecrated in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Kyiv-Pechersk, Pochayiv and Svyatogorsk. This testifies to the special reverence of the Most Holy Mother of God to our Orthodox people, as well as the connection of the monasticism in Russia and the ancient monastery of the Assumption of Our Lady on Mount Athos. National Museum “Holodomor Victims Memorial”

The monument was erected in honor of the dead in 1932-1933. Literary and Memorial Museum of M. Bulgakov

The Mikhail Bulgakov Museum is open in the so-called Turbini House, where the writer lived from 1906 to 1919 and where he settled the heroes of the novel White Guard.

The interiors of the rooms are reproduced in the form as they are reflected in the photographs and as they were described by Bulgakov himself: a piano living room, a medical room, a sister room of the writer Vari, as well as a room of the Bulgakov himself and the hero of the novel Nicholas, the entrance to which is the wardrobe the sign of the apartment N50 from the novel Master and Margarita.

Kyiv fortress

House with Chimeras

This building is one of the most extravagant works of architect Gorodetsky, in this house he lived until 1920.

On the side of Ivan Franko’s square, a six-storey house with a three-storey building from Bankova is the fair side, where the apartment of V. Gorodetsky himself and his construction office were located. From the walls of the house speak the heads of elephants and the rhinoceros on the roof sit chimeras, and the river goddess Nejad climbed on dolphins. The style is romantic, new modern, and it was expressed in the new material – the reinforced concrete in which all the decor is executed.

 

National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet of Ukraine named after. T. G. Shevchenko
