On March 11, 2021, within the framework of the MoPED project – Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments №586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP a round table was held on the topic: “From innovation to STEM education: prospects and obstacles” on the basis of the Center of Advanced Educational Technologies “USPU Ecosystem” Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University.
The use of the STEM-education principle allows to carry out modernization of methodological bases, content, volume of educational material of natural-mathematical cycle subjects, technology of the studying process and the formation of educational competencies of a qualitatively new level. It also contributes to better preparation of young people for successful employment and their further education. The main purpose of STEM-education is the implementation of state policy taking into account the new requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Education” to strengthen the development of scientific and technical direction in educational and methodological activities at all educational levels; creation of scientific and methodical base for increase of creative potential of youth and professional competence of scientific and pedagogical workers. These issues were discussed by the participants of the round table. Everyone had the opportunity to express the opinion, share experiences, ask questions.
Considering the epidemiological situation in the country and in the town, with observance of all quarantine requirements, only part of the participants took part in the round table offline. Others joined the roundtable online using modern means of communication.
