The workshop “The basics of STEM education. Modern technologies for inquiry based approach”

On December 5, 2019, at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University was held the workshop “The basics of STEM education. Modern technologies for inquiry based approach” within the framework of the project “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments” (MoPED) of the EU program Erasmus + KA2 – Development of Higher Education Capacity, No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP. The seminar was attended by teachers, deputy directors and directors of secondary education institutions in Kyiv. This workshop was presented by Viktoriia Vember, PhD, Associated Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics Department.
During the seminar, the participants were introduced to the features of the modern STEM / STEAM education trend, the benefits of the STEM approach, got acquainted with the model of the implementation of Inquiry Based Learning, and tools to support it. Participants of the workshop reviewed the structure of the Go-Lab ecosystem, one of the components of which is the Go-Lab portal. It contains a list of available virtual laboratories, applications that can be used to create research space, a set of research spaces available for use, and so on.
