As part of the MoPED project, the Commission on Quality of Education met

June 27, 2019, the  Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University held a meeting of the Commission on the Quality of Education under the EU Erasmus + K2 Project «MoPED» (586098-EPP-1-2017-1-1 -UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP). An internal evaluation of the newly developed teaching aids (HANDBOOK) was put on the agenda ( «Technologies of development of critical thinking in the learning of physics», «Innovative technologies of teaching school mathematics course», «Cloud and mobile technologies in education») for their conformity with modern requirements of professional training of specialists and the desirability of incorporating them into the educational process of training future teachers.

All the members of the Commission have shared the idea of modernizing higher pedagogical education by improving the quality of the education, updating its content and forms of organization of the educational process, and introducing the educational innovations and information technologies.

The Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, the Professor, the Member of the NAPN of Ukraine, the Head of the Department of Physics, Astronomy and Methods of their Teaching, Mikhail Martynyuk has noted that one of the main tasks of pedagogical higher educational establishments is to train a teacher in a new format: initiative, creativity, mobility, ability to quickly navigate the labour market, creatively and non-standard approach to solving various kinds of issues and the like. The training of such a teacher, in particular, requires updating educational programmes and the development of new courses of study.

Tatiana Kravets, the Deputy Director for Educational Work, Uman General Education School, Levels I-III, Uman City Council, Cherkasy oblast (representative of employers), has noted the urgent need for teacher training, ready and able to introduce STEM-education in the general secondary education institutions. In her opinion, the courses developed as part of the MoPED project are important and will contribute to the development of a highly-skilled, creative, creative teacher with a subject, capable of providing conditions for the integration of advanced ideas and innovative technologies.


Andrey Gedzik – the first Vice-rector, the  Doctor of Education, Professor (Chairman of the Commission); Natalia Kolyada – the Vice-rector for Innovation and European Integration, the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, the  Professor also has participated in the discussion of the evaluation procedure for the new courses (Deputy Chairman of the Commission); Oksana Zhmud – the Assistant Professor of Informatics and Information and Communication Technologies, the  Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences (Commission Secretary); Igor Tkachenko –  the Professor of Physics and Astronomy and their Teaching Methods, the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, the Assistant Professor; Nadezhda Stetsenko – the  Assistant Professor of Pedagogy and Educational Management, the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, the Assistant Professor; Yana Bondaruk – the Assistant Professor of English Language and Teaching Methods, the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, the Assistant Professor; Oksana Melnik – the Head of the Education Department of the Uman City Council (representative of the authority); Oleksandra Ordanovska – the Dean of the Physics and Mathematics Department  of the K.D. Ushinsky South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University, the  Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, the Assistant Professor (external expert – remote participation) Svetlana Zaritskaya is a student of the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics of 154 group of educational degree «master’s» (representative of students).

If approved, the courses will be recommended by the University’s Quality Commission for external evaluation.
