The workshop “The Use of Digital Technologies in Mathematics Education”

The workshop “The Use of Digital Technologies in Mathematics Education” was held at the Boris Grinchenko Kyiv University on June 21, 2018.

This workshop was presented by Viktoriia Vember, a participant of the international project “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education on the Use of Innovative Teaching Tools” (MoPED) of the EU program Erasmus + KA2 – Development of Higher Education Capacity, No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP, PhD, Associated Professor of Information Technology and Mathematical Science Department. V.Vember adapted and presented the materials of the training “The Use of Digital Technologies in Mathematics Education”, which had held at the University of Cyprus, in June 2018.

The materials of the training, conducted by our partners from the University of Cyprus, may be useful for further research on the scientific topic of the Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences Department “Theoretical and practical aspects of using of mathematical methods and information technologies in education and science”.

An in-depth survey of the software and online resources used for mathematical education was conducted using the participants’ own mobile devices, responses were displayed on the proposed virtual board. The survey showed that most of the resources used by European partners are not well known at our University.

Participants with interest are familiar with the possibilities online services and mathematical libraries, in particular зокрема https://www.nctm.org , http://nlvm.usu.edu ,http://www.multiplication.com , https://mathematics.library.cornell.edu , https://www.explorelearning.com .

A more detailed study of the possibilities and directions of using these resources can be useful for implementation in our University and further research by Scientific and pedagogical staff of the Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences Department and students, in particular, the specialties “Mathematics” and “Computer Science”.
